ANDY BELL

With a love for creating characters, stop motion, animation, and film, Andy Bell brings a fresh approach to polymer clay, which he uses to bring his quirky character designs to life. Having worked on numerous commercials and children’s TV shows, he is known for his contributions to stop-motion films like Isle of Dogs and Pinocchio.

Andy’s posable designs are rooted in the charm of imperfection, featuring expressive figures that embrace asymmetry, handmade beauty, and natural flaws—complete with spindly limbs and vacant-looking eyes.

ANDY'S CLASS

In this class, Andy will encourage students to create their own characters, guiding them through the process of transforming illustrations into tangible, posable sculptures—based on a whimsical scarecrow character with a fun, seasonal twist. You’ll learn how to adapt the design into a scarecrow version of yourself, with a focus on charming details like creases, pockets, stitching, and final shading with colour to bring your character to life.
